2 What are they? Both Millipedes and Centipedes are insects with long bodies are several legs on each body segment. The Centipede comes from the Class Chilopoda, whilst the Millipede comes from Class Diplopoda. Centipe de Millipede

4 How do they look like? Millipedes Millipedes are rigid anthropods and can often be recognised by it sub cylindrical shape. They have two pairs of legs on each body segment. Centipedes Centipedes are terrestrial anthropods and are more flexible. They are flattened creatures with only one pair of legs on each body segment. A Centipede as venomous legs attached to it’s first segment, but is typically not harmful to humans.

6 How do they behave? Millipedes Millipedes move slowly, and burrow. Not having the ability to sting, a Millipede employs defensive emissions, which are produced by their segmental glands. They also curl up if irritated or scared. Centipedes Centipedes are known for their speed, and attack prey, using their front segment legs as defence if needed. Centipedes do bite small prey, and it is typically harmless to humans, but in the occasion of a small child with a centipede bite, they should be watched closely for any severe reactions. 8 Where do they live? MillipedesCentipedes Both Centipedes and Millipedes prefer moist, protect outdoor habitats such as rotting tree logs, leaves, bark, and under stones.
