8 LAT-PR-07488-018 GLAST LAT ProjectManufacturing Readiness Review, Oct. 12, 2005 Engineering Status Changes since Allied Engineering contract award Sept. 26, 2005. 3 drawings were revised –LAT-DS-06179-03 Test Stand Weldment Assy –LAT-DS-06183-02 Test Stand Spreader Bar –LAT-DS-06911-02 Caster Pad Weldment Allied will incorporate these changes at no cost Pending changes –Revise position of cross bar to align Radiator struts to stand. This will be the 03 revision to LAT-DS-06179

10 LAT-PR-07488-0110 GLAST LAT ProjectManufacturing Readiness Review, Oct. 12, 2005 Analysis Status Analysis presented by John Ku at the final design review showed all positive margins of safety. The design review actions were: 1.Thermal stresses (need gradients from Jack); thermally induced stresses between shoes and flexures (incomplete, non-critical) 2.Check overturning moment for stability requirement (complete -- OK) 3. Radiator punch loads and stiffness (complete -- mods made) 4. Calculate effective stiffness needed at radiator strut (complete -- OK) 5. perturbation analysis of leveling pad (incomplete) 6. Single failure point on welds (complete -- OK, no SFP) 7. DMIG LAT and get loads into combined assy (incomplete, non-critical) John addressed items 2, 3, 4, and 6, but items 1, 5, and 7 are still incomplete. He believes these are non-critical because if a problem is found, it can be fixed later, i.e. the fix will not affect the current test stand design.
