6. The theory The inside of a meander is more shallow and the current is slower. The outside is deeper and the current is quicker. Does the meander we surveyed follow this pattern?

8. We went to Wanstead Park on September the 14 th. The park is a wood in Wanstead with a small river in it. The river is quite natural and is not very deep or wide. Before we went on the trip it was sunny and dry. We carried out three surveys to check the river speed and depth. How to write the investigation up

9. Our class went to Wanstead Park on Monday September 14 th to carry out a set of surveys on a meander. The meander is on a shallow narrow river in a wood (the edge of Epping Forest) and is almost completely unmanaged except for a small wall just above the inside of the river beach which protects the footpath. The wood is in the residential area of Wanstead and is next door to Wanstead Golf Course. In the days before the trip it was sunny and dry except for a small rain shower three days beforehand. This meant that the river was shallow enough for us to complete all of our tests.
