Formatting and Printing Worksheets Worksheet Title: describes the content of a worksheet table Column Heading: appears at the top of a column and describes the data in the column Row Heading: appears at the left of a row and describes the data in the row Range: a group of two or more cells on a worksheet –identified by Cell Reference : Cell Reference –B5:C9 Cell Reference: The cell name. Worksheet Guidelines Use descriptive worksheet title –Key in all caps in 12- to 14-point font –Make bold; center across data columns –Leave a blank row after the title Use descriptive column heads –Make bold; center Center worksheet tables horizontally and vertically Lesson 92 Slide 3

Formatting a Worksheet Orientation: direction of text in a cell Merge & Center: select a range of cells, Merge & Center (bring together as one) Wrap Text: allows text to wraparound within a cell Percent Style: automatically formats your number to a whole Percent –(be sure numbers are in decimal form for this to work!) Formatting a Worksheet Number Format: choose a variety of styles in which to format the numbers in your cell Conditional Formatting: apply formatting to a cell set to certain conditions (If, Then) Clear: either removes EVERYTHING from a cell or can remove just formatting, contents, etc. Lesson Slide 6

Formatting a Worksheet Accounting Number Format: automatically places a $ and 2 decimal places into your cell. –$ is left aligned. Formatting number to Currency style will show the $ directly next to the number Lesson Slide 7

Printing Worksheets Use Print Preview to check Change margins or center if needed Lesson 92 Slide 9

Page Setup Page Tab: Change orientation of paper –Can also scale your data to fit all on one or more pages Margin Tab: Center your data horizontally &/or vertically. –Can also modify margins Lesson Slide 10

Page Setup Header/Footer tab: Can use a pre- formatted header –Choose Custom Header –Add own information Sheet: can identify area to print –can also have gridlines show –Choose B&W –Can change page order of worksheet when printing Lesson 92 Slide 11
