5. STEP-BY-STEP PROCEDURE

6. STEP BY STEP PROCEDURE STEP 1: Open the Wizard * Press Window Key + Run * Type shrpubw.exe * Press Ok. -or- * Click Start. * Type run and then type shrpubw.exe * Press Ok. -or- * Simply type shrpubw.exe in the Search box * Press Enter.

7. STEP 2: Click through the Welcome Page * if you need to learn more about your Windows Firewall, click the link (Learn More about Windows Firewall) -or- otherwise click Next to continue. STEP BY STEP PROCEDURE

8. STEP 3: Set up your folder * Setup the folder to be shared * Click the Browse button * Once the new Window opens, NAVIGATE to the folder you want to share * Click Ok * Click Next STEP BY STEP PROCEDURE

9. STEP 4: Naming your share * Give your share a name * Optionally, a description Note: The share path is already configured from the previous screen STEP BY STEP PROCEDURE

10. STEP 5: Offline Settings * Click the Change button to make changes to the offline settings. This allows you to give offline access to users. * Click Next to continue. Note: A note on offline storage – this can be a potential security issue when secure files are cached on a non secure machine. Make sure you enable this option WITH CARE. STEP BY STEP PROCEDURE

11. STEP 6: Permission a. In the next window, you set up permission for users. You have FOUR OPTIONS: * All users have read-only access, * Administrators have full access; other users have read-only access, * Administrators have full access; other users have no access or * Customize permissions b. Click Finish Note: In order to give all users read/ write access, you will have to use Custom. STEP BY STEP PROCEDURE

12. STEP 7: Complete the share In the last screen, you have the option to complete this share and/ or start over to set up another share. Note: if you do not need to set up another share, just click Finish and the share will immediately be available to all users. STEP BY STEP PROCEDURE
