I am a vulnerable adult I am a vulnerable adult. I am a trusting person and that means someone may try to hurt me. Staff help me learn and improve my skills and help keep me safe and healthy.

Maltreatment Maltreatment is the term for being hurt. It may include: Abuse Neglect Financial Harm

Abuse Someone may try to hurt you physically

Abuse Someone may try to hurt you by calling you a name or harassing you, making you feel bad. They also may say something to humiliate you.

Abuse Someone may try to touch you in a way that makes you uncomfortable. Make sure to tell them to stop and then tell a staff.

Neglect Neglect is when your caregiver does not help you get what you need to live (more than what you can provide for yourself). Food Clothing Home healthcare

Financial Harm Someone may try to use your money to buy unnecessary things and/or does not buy you what you need to live. They take advantage of you.

You work hard to earn your money and like to buy things you want and need. The person helping you with your finances must use it for your benefit.

Who do you report to? If you or someone you see is being hurt in any way that we have been talking about, report it to: Supervisor Job coach Case manager
