2 The raw material for tires (isoprene) originally came from trees During WWII, scientists discovered ways to convert crude oil into isoprene. Currently, about 26 litres of oil is required to make 1 tire. Tires: Manufacturing Home

3 Tires: Use As Tires are used, the rubber slowly flakes off over time Worn down rubber does not decompose It finds its way into rivers, lakes and streams Currently there is limited research in the long term effects of rubber pollution Home
