Apprenticeships A paid job with training, leading to a package of qualifications which relate to the job. Must last atleast12 months Average salary is £170 per week – increases with the level of Apprenticeship. The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices will be £3.30 from 1 st October. Available all year round; over 1,500 different types of Apprenticeships. Delivered across the county in a variety of job roles.

Apprenticeships Suffolk A dedicated team to raise awareness and support young people. Over 1,000 young people registered with the Service this year. Groups workshops, one to one interviews, drop in, assemblies, careers fairs, email, web based and telephone support. A matching portal – coming soon.

For young people aged 16-24 (and for young people with Learning Difficulty Assessments up to academic age 25) who want to work, but who need extra help to gain an apprenticeship or job. Last a maximum of six months. A bespoke package build around a work placement, work preparation training and English and Maths. For students aged 19 to 24 a traineeship must provide progression into employment or an apprenticeship

Unrestricted access to advice and support. Level of support dependent on need. Support employers taking on a young person. Participation mandatory for young people in receipt of JSA.

School Work Clubs Delivered by Tomorrow’s People in 13 Secondary Schools Tailored support to Year 11 students to make a successful transition into post-16 learning and Apprenticeships. Target Groups are those who: Want to go into work based learning, Or have no clear intentions, Or identified as at risk of becoming NEET

School Work Clubs Group sessions will be delivered as structured workshops that centre on employability advice. Employability Level 1 Award where applicable One to one support so that each young person has a tailored approach to their needs Administration time / support built into model to support young people out of allocated school time – into September Summer Engagement: Keeping touch, finalising offers, post-results support
