Phosphate A Matthew Banks Production

Why is the Test done? The test is done so that water health specialists can make sure that the health of the river is good. Another, reason this test is done is to make sure that there I not to much phosphate in the water. This is because phosphate makes plants grow out of control, and when plants grow out of control they can take over the entire area it is living in.

What does the test measure and what units I it measured in? The phosphate test measures how much phosphorus is in water. Phosphorus is an element essential to our bodies, it helps make A.T.P., which is what gets our bodies moving in a disaster. Other than our bodies, phosphate is in animals and plants. This units of this test are ppm., or parts per million. Ex. <0.05 ppm means that there are less than(<).05 phosphate parts per 1 million water molecules.

What factors affect the test? There are many factors that effect the test. If people started to use very phosphorus dish washing detergent, then the rivers phosphate level would sky rocket. If farmers used fertilizer than the phosphate level of the river would go up. If the industries in the area dumped their waste into the river. Those are the factors that effect this test. Those are the factors that effect this test.

Conclusion Based on the results of the phosphate test, I believe that the health of the river is quite healthy because the river has a low phosphate level.
