4 Timelines Article 1 (Promotion) – page 17 Applications due on September 15. Recommendation from the President and decision of the Board delivered to candidates on March 15 Article 2 (Tenure and Promotion to Associate Professor/Librarian II) – page 39 Applications for reappointment to a 7 th year with tenure and promotion to Associate Prof./Librarian II are due on March 20. The President notifies candidates of reappointment or non-reappointment by July 30 Article 3 (Reappointment/Tenure) – page 51 1 st year – applications due May 15; Dean’s letter by June 15 2 nd year – applications due March 20; reappointment letter for 4 th year by July 30 3 rd year – applications due March 20; reappointment letter for 5 th and 6 th year or 5 th year only by July 30 4 th year – applications due May 15 (like 1 st year if reappointed for 5 th and 6 th year); Dean’s letter by June 15. Applications due March 20 (like 3 rd year if reappointed for 5 th year only); reappointment letter by July 30 5 th year – applications due March 20; reappointment letter for 7 th year with tenure by July 30

5 The College Promotions and Tenure Committee (CPTC) Pages 25, 37, 49 Reviews all stand-alone promotion applications Reviews tenure/promotion applications only if PRC or Dean (or both) recommend against tenure/promotion Membership consists of 12 tenured faculty and librarians who have reached the rank of Associate Professor, Professor, Librarians II, I The Provost serves as an ex officio participating member without vote

6 Qualifying Life Event Modified Timeline Available for Candidates with a Qualifying Life Event 2011 PRD Note added to page 34 2014 PRD See pages 41-46 2015 PRD See pages 41-43 Contact Erika Worthy Office of Human Resources Candidates should contact the Office of Human Resources to begin this process. The Office of Human Resources will verify the Qualifying Life Event and then notify Academic Affairs, the Dean, and the Department Chair.
