4 Incoming Spring Program 4-5 student delegates visit KL for 2 weeks in late March KL student volunteers host delegate students Japanese class visits, shadowing, Japan Club parties, host family excursions Hosts must fill out applications and be matched to a student delegate Kentwood’s sister school is Kitano and will visit KW during the same 2 weeks

5 Hosting an Exchange Student Transportation to/from airport Transportation to/from school (or ride the bus) Provide a separate bed or separate room Provide food and entertainment Participate in Japan Club activities

6 Cherry Blossom Festival Friday, March 27 Welcomes student visitors from Kent School District’s sister schools

7 Outgoing Summer Program 2 KL students + 2 KW students visit Abuno High School and Kitano High School for 2 weeks in July Cost: ~$2,000 airfare, ~$300-500 spending money Preference given to 3 rd year students

8 Delegate Requirements Current non-graduating KL Japanese student Passing all classes On-track to graduate Exhibits graciousness, cultural sensitivity, positive attitude, willingness to take risks, outgoing/friendly personality, ability to represent KL in a positive light, commitment to financial responsibility, attendance, continuing in Japanese studies Complete application submitted by January 24 th Applications available now on S: drive and SWIFT site Note: Sensei will be watching you all year. Teacher feedback may be solicited.
