Preliminary Situation
These are things that happen in the story, before the play begins. These are never acted on stage; the characters just talk about them. Example: The Wizard of Oz Sorry Wrong Number Preliminary Situation

This is the first important event in the play from which the rest of the plot develops.

This is all the action in the play that happens in between the initial incident and the climax.

This is the turning point of the action

Falling Action This is what happens after the climax.
