Chemistry Risks/Benefits Vocab March 12, 2012 Carcinogen- a chemical that causes cancer in organisms. Cancer – a disease that is caused by abnormal cell growth and reproduction ( cellular mitosis). Tumors of irregular cells are cancerous growths.

Heart Disease- A condition of the heart – death results from restricted blood flow to the heart caused by consuming foods reach in fats ( Cholesterol) and tobacco products.

Side effects –is the additional effect of an action (usually associated with taking medication), that is secondary to the one intended.
