2 In-text Citations These are mini-citations in the body of the paper that act like signposts. They direct the reader to the Works Cited page, so that the actual citation can be found and used to verify authenticity of work.

6 In-Text Book Citation: Multiple Books by Same Author List the author’s last name, an abbreviated title of the book, and the page number. Visual studies, because it is such a new discipline, may be “too easy” (Elkins, “Visual Studies” 63). In a normal eye, the light rays come to a sharp focusing point on the retina. The retina functions much like the film in a camera. (Elkins, “How the Eye” 75)
