2. Course Objectives
This training program is based on the Registered Behavior Technician RBT Task List  and is designed to meet the 40- hour training requirement for the RBT credential.  This program is offered independent of the BCBA.

Specify job roles in behavior-analytic services
Summarize the process and requirements for obtaining the Registered Behavior Technician(RBT) credential through the BACB

6. Defining Applied Behavior Analysis
"Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the science in which tactics derived from the principles of behavior are applied to improve socially significant behavior and experimentation is used to identify the variables responsible for improvement in behavior." (Cooper, Heron, Heward, 2007)

7. Defining Applied Behavior Analysis
"In a functional behavior-analytic approach, behavior is viewed as functional (i.e., purposeful) for certain antecedents contexts behavior of the contingency or contingencies involved." (Cipani & Schock, 2011)
"Principle of Behavior:  A statement describing a functional relation between behavior and one or more of its controlling variables with generally across organisms, species, settings, behaviors, and time (e.g., extinction, positive reinforcement); an empirical generalization inferred from many experiments demonstrating the same functional relation." (Cooper, Heron, Heward, 2007)
