3. INTRODUCTION These maps are designed as a supplement to the 2008 Seniors in Communities Mapping Project and were prepared for the North Shore Seniors Planning Table and the North Shore Seniors’ Coalition These maps use 2006 census data on 2 additional age groups: 65 – 74 and 75 – 84 The first two maps show the distribution of people in these age groups on the North Shore A density map for all persons over the age of 65 is also included but is not used subsequently with the other data The maps show transit information using a 300m buffer zone and are broken down into 3 zones: West, Central and East The remaining maps show emergency services, health services commercial service areas, recreation and social services and information and support services in relation to the two age groups

CLOSING REMARKS These are not all of the maps we undertook to do in this project We are awaiting further data from Statistics Canada Once we have the data sets we will do a many more maps as possible within the time we still have available. These will include maps regarding aboriginal populations, language spoken at home, education and income. As yet no analysis has been done on theses maps.
