In addition to elevations and plan views we also use sections. These can be a slice through a building at designated points.

Sketching is a very important way to communicate Sketching helps train the eye Handy hints for beginners! ◦ Look at the bigger picture first (i.e. draw the main walls, roof etc first) ◦ Look for relationships such as regular dimensions and proportions (i.e. window arrangements) ◦ Put in decoration last ◦ Use a pencil to gauge the size of elements (such as walls and doors)
