SPECIAL STUDIES FROM GENESIS 1-11

The universe had a beginning! “What is the ultimate solution to the mystery of the origin of the universe? The answers provided by the astronomers are disconcerting and remarkable…most remarkable of all is the fact that in science, as in the Bible, the world begins with an act of creation [it started]. This view has not always been held by scientist, only as a result of the most recent discoveries can we say with a fair degree of confidence our universe has not always existed forever….Picture the radiant splendor of the moment of creation, suddenly a world of pure energy flashes into being, light of unimaginable brilliance fills the universe, the cosmic fireball expands and cools. After a few minutes the first particle of matter appears like droplets of liquid metal condensing in a furnace. Modern science denies an eternal exist- ence of the universe.” (Robert Jastrow, atheist, scientist)

Evolutionists can’t explain it! “With the failure of these many efforts to create life [their efforts], science was left in a somewhat embarrassing position of having to postulate theories of living origins which it could not demonstrate. After having chided the theologian for his reliance on myth and miracle, science found itself in the unenviable position of having to create a mythology of its own, namely the assumption that what after a long time could not be proved to take place today had in truth taken place in the primeval past.” (Loren Eiseley, evolutionist).

Aliens from another planet? Dr. Francis Crick, nobel prize winner who hates Christianity, and Dr. Leslie Orgle, in Time Magazine, September 10, 1973, put forward a theory of origin of life on earth that seeds of life were planted here by aliens. This just pushes the problem over to another planet. Where did the other planet and the aliens come from?
5
The Steady-State Theory? This theory says that new matter is constantly being created to replace that which is lost by the expanding Universe. Somewhere in the past something happened which caused a new principle to start taking place which accounts for constant ever going creation, spontaneously done. Every second billions of tons of matter being produced from nothing. This theory was given up by its originator, Sir Fred Hoyle, astronomer and cosmologist. Few accept this view because it contradicts the 1 st Law of Thermodynamics which states that neither matter nor energy can be created or destroyed in nature. A natural process cannot bring into existence something out of nothing.
6
The Big Bang Theory? It says, every bit of energy in the universe constricted together, then suddenly as gravitation began to fold back on itself, there was an explosion that blew out this energy into the universe of today which evolved into us. Where did the stuff come from that blew up? Why and how did it happen? If it was an explosion, how do you get order, arrangement, design?
7
The Big Bang Theory? “Astronomers which believe in the Big Bang Theory of the creation of the universe have to do so as an act of faith, just as they would were it a religious, rather than a scientific theory. Although the Big Bang Theory has been a favorite of astronomers recently there is no more evidence to back it up than there is to support any one of the numerous other theories. The theory is dead, I think. Few of the people who even give it lip service really believe it or else they really haven’t thought about it yet.” (Allan D. Allan, physicist, evolutionist) “As a result of all this, the main efforts of investigators have been in papering over holes in the big bang theory, to build up an idea that has become evermore complex and cumbersome…. I have little hesitation in saying that a sickly pall now hangs over the big bang theory. When a pattern of facts become set against a theory, experience shows that the theory rarely recovers.” (Sir Fred Hoyle)
8
It created itself out of nothing? “It is then tempting to go one step further and speculate that the entire universe evolved from literally nothing”. (Alan Guth and Paul Steinhardt, evolutionists) “The universe is probably the result of a random quantum fluctuation in a spaceless, timeless void…the earth and humanity, are not conscious creations but an accident…it is not sufficient merely to say, ‘You can’t get something from nothing.’ While everyday experience and common sense seem to support this principle, if there is anything we have learned from twentieth- century physics, it is this: Common sense is often wrong, and our normal experiences are but a tiny fraction of reality.” (Professor Victor Stenger, militant atheist) In other words, they would have us believe that the universe is here because of an accidental very big movement in no space at no time of nothing. Who can believe it!
9
The Law of Causality A law of science accepted by all…every effect must have an adequate cause. Hebrews 3:4 “For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God.” Cosmos (GK) = order, arrangement, design. The Greeks saw this in our world. Design demands a designer!
