Module Metadata

Non-Controversial Changes  Changed ModuleMetadata from a Resource to a Type  Added url element – globally unique, referenceable identifier  Version – required for published artifacts  Added name element – machine-processable identifier  Simplified coverage element and added “jurisdiction” focus type  Collapsed keyword element into topic  Changed rightsDeclaration element to copyright

Contributors  Removed contributors from ModuleMetadata  Contributors for an artifact, including authors, editors, reviewers, and endorsers, will be modeled with Provenance now  Need to provide guidance, probably on the ModuleMetadata type description, on how to model contributor information in a Provenance record from the knowledge module perspective.  Feedback from CDS (1/28):  Contributors are important to have as first class  Even if they weren’t, if we used Provenance, how would we:  1) Make it easy to retrieve the Provenance with the resource?  2) Define what the provenance must contain when related to a module?

Publisher/Steward  Collapsed to just “publisher”, consistent with other FHIR metadata  The publisher (or steward) of the module is the organization or individual primarily responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the module. This is not necessarily the same organization that developed and initially authored the content. The publisher is the primary point of contact for questions or issues with the module.  Simplified the representation, consistent with other FHIR metadata  publisher  contact  name  telecom

Related Resources CodeDefinition documentationAdditional documentation for the module. This would include additional instructions on usage as well as additional information on clinical context or appropriateness. justificationA summary of the justification for the artifact including supporting evidence, relevant guidelines, or other clinically important information. This information is intended to provide a way to make the justification for the module available to the consumer of interventions or results produced by the artifact. citationBibliographic citation for papers, references, or other relevant material for the module. This is intended to allow for citation of related material, but that was not necessarily specifically prepared in connection with this module. predecessorThe previous version of the module successorThe next version of the module derived-fromThe module is derived from the resource. This is intended to capture the relationship when a particular module is based on the content of another module, but is modified to capture either a different set of overall requirements, or a more specific set of requirements such as those involved in a particular institution or clinical setting.
