3. ● God’s oracle told him he must serve Eurystheus, the king of Tiryns and Mycenae, for twelve years, as punishment for the murders. ● Hercules had to perform the Twelve Labors as part of his sentence ●With the help of Athena and Hermes, Hercules was able to complete all twelve labors and become Greece’s greatest hero Background Info Cont.

4. 9th Labor of Hercules ●Hercules was ordered to fetch the belt of Hippolyte ●The Amazons were a tribe of women warriors ●Queen Hippolyte’s belt was a gift given to her by Ares, the war god, because she was the best warrior of all in the Amazons. ●Eurystheus using belt as a gift to daughter ●Hippolyte agreed to give Hercules the belt Amazon Warrior Amazon on horseback

6. 10th Labor of Hercules ● Eurystheus ordered Hercules to bring him the cattle of the monster Geryon ● Hercules travels to Erythia near Libya and Europe ● As Hercules is retreating with the cattle Geryon attacks him ● Hercules shoots Geryon with arrows ● At Rhegium one of the cattle gets loose and travels to the city Sicily Hercules, Geryon, and the two-headed dog, Orthos Geryon
