04-07 Tech Plan Columbia School District #400 Summary
2
Key Change from Prior Tech. Planning Process Foundation is learning goals from School Improvement Plans of each building District plan is RESPONSE to those goals, and articulates how they will assist buildings in reaching them Timelines and Benchmarks/Budget and Funding Sources/Evaluation integrated into other sections http://www.edtech.wednet.edu/Resources/techplan/TechandLearningPlans.ppt
3
“Creative Tensions” Feds require 3-year district technology plans; most building SIP plans are 1-year plans (sometimes 2-yr, occasionally 3-yr) Needs should be identified at building level in SIP plans, but may need district help to achieve them (i.e., funding, PD) Buildings may lack expertise to identify how technology can help meet goals Sufficient time for planning vs. deadlines http://www.edtech.wednet.edu/Resources/techplan/TechandLearningPlans.ppt
