2. Laurie Halse Anderson is one of my favorite authors because her books really make it easy for me to enter the exciting world of reading. Betty J. Birney is one of my favorite authors because she writes about animals, but the animal is the narrator. In her book, The World According to Humphrey, I was really interested in the book. Judy Blume is one of my favorite authors because she has the ability to make people laugh. I really enjoy her funny characters.

3. Favorite Books Superfudge is one of my favorite books because it’s VERY funny. It’s makes me laugh REALLY hard. Homeless is a really good book because it’s suspensful and intense. I really like those types of books. The World Accordin g to Humphre y is one of my favorite books because it makes me feel like I’m with the character s.

4. Favorite Characters Peter and Fudge Hatcher were some of my favorite characters from the Fudge series. I liked Peter because his life was sort of like mine. But he always makes the best of it and I can use his helpful advice in my own life. I like Fudge because he is hilarious. If there wasn’t a Fudge in the series, then the books would all be boring. These books wouldn’t ever be bestsellers. I LOVE FUDGE!!! Humphrey the hamster from The World According to Humphrey is one of my favorite characters because he is a really helpful hamster. My favorite part of the book was when Humphrey helped Sayeh speak up. I really enjoyed it.

5. Favorite Types of Books Page On this page I will talk about the genres I like, and what else I like about books. I like the genre realistic fiction because it’s possible but it’s usually unique. Like the little disastrous Fudge- it could happen, but it’s not like it happens with every family. I also like books with animals as the main characters. Betty J. Birney and Laurie Halse Anderson have animals as their main characters, but they don’t make a world where there is ONLY animals, there are people too. Like in The World According to Humphrey, there’s Garth, and in Fight For Life, there’s Dr. Mac.

6. Getting Down to Reading I usually read for 30 minutes each day after school. Every day, I set goals for myself and normally stop every 10 minutes and check if I understand what’s happening so far in the book. I sometimes will write a paragraph about what I know. I’m working on reading slower. I personally and honestly think I’m HORRIBLE at reading comprehension. I also think that I want to work on picking just-right books. The books I pick are way too easy for me and I can definitely read harder books. I’m just trying to find out what book is my type.
