5. The Proclamation of 1763 Proclamation of 1763: law that banned settlement west of the Appalachian Mts. – Also ordered colonists living in the OH River Valley to leave. HOWEVER….. Most colonists ignored the Proclamation & GB found it difficult to enforce.
