2. CrustCrust The crust is the thinnest layer of the Earth. The crust is made up of ROCK. Rocks are made from 1 or more minerals.

3. Mantle The mantle is the thick layer of rock between the crust and the core. The lower part of the mantle is solid. The upper part is soft rock, like modeling clay.

4. Core Core The core is made up of two parts: the outer core and the inner core. The outer core is liquid and is just below the mantle. The inner core is a dense ball and is the hottest part of the Earth.
