What are Delaware Readiness Teams? ( DEL Teams ) An unique opportunity to build strong, reciprocal linkages between early childhood providers and K-12 schools A multi-faceted community approach to ensuring continuity of support and services for young children, birth through 8, and their families. Delaware’s Readiness Equation: Ready Families + Ready Early Care & Education Providers + Ready Communities + Ready Schools = Ready Children

What are the benefits of 21 teams? DEL TEAMS will bring together partnerships of families, early childhood and K-12 educators, health care, human services, and civic leaders to make school readiness and the needs of young children a high priority. Both the K-12 schools and the early care and education programs will understand their community’s strengths and needs to better design environments and instruction that support their students’ readiness and success.

How Engaging Families… Completed initial profile of areas along with ongoing focus groups and surveys to follow-up Involving groups like PACE and PTA’s to join the conversations around the table Supporting and involving parents in decision making process in their own community Bookmobiles and other programs that go into distinct communities intentionally to have parents participate and identify leaders Hosting family support groups where parents can determine topics and create networks Distributing resources and guiding activities for families to support children’s preparedness at home.
