1. Lab 1-4 Constructing a Field Map
Take out the lab on “Constructing a Field Map.”

2. Start by choosing a value which is in the middle near the middle.
Huh?
In other words: you want a value that is both away from the edges and in the middle of the range of values on this map.
This will give you the best chance of starting with a complete line.
Find all the 22 degrees marks & darken them with pencil.

3. USE PENCIL!

4. Not enough points to get a good pattern?
Add some data points.
Just because there are no more 22’s doesn’t mean they don’t exist.
22 belongs between 21 and 23, (etc.).

5. Now connect the dots with a smooth curve.
Do not go past the edge of your map. You have no data from which to make a pattern.

6. Now go to the next higher or lower value.
