Work done Updated FPGA implementation of Dick Lyon’s Cochlea model to run in real time, given the demo last week. Implemented toy problem for sound segregation task from Shihab’s model.

1. FPGA Cochlea Response of Chirp Signal

2. Sound segregation problem am = (signal.square(2*pi*4*t1)+1)/2 stimulus = sin(2*pi*600*t1)*am + sin(2*pi*4000*t1)*(1-am) Aim is to segregate a tone, based on attention signal.

Correlation matrix @ time t ihc bm 2Hz 4Hz 8Hz Stimulus Channel.................. Attention Signal Mask array Reconstructed tone Cochlea 16Hz

Applied mask After applying mask to the Cochlear channel, we can reconstruct each tone. Mask would be chosen based on attention signal.

Future work Extend this work for speech signals to segregate source in Cocktail party problem.
