Your task is to write three short diary entries about the day from the viewpoint of each character. You will need to use evidence from the text to show how a character felt – and why they did something. So for example, we know the boy finds the old men a little funny as he laughs when he compares the broom/brush to their moustaches! Perhaps he could talk about that in his diary entry.
