The 7 Elements of a Digital Story Visual Portrait of a Story—Story Mapping United Streaming Project: Using clips from the Discovery Education website to create a video on the subject of your choice Door Scene Project: a concept created by American Film Institute that focuses on emotion & shot Compositions

What Will I Learn This Year? Introduction Video: Create a video that introduces you to the class in an interesting way Video Interview: Create an interesting video of an interview of a teacher, coach, or historical subject Documentary: create a video that “chronicles” real life events

Commercial: Create an advertisement for an existing product or business of your choice, or a fictional product or business you create PSA: Create a Public Service Announcement that educates your classmates or the general public Feature Films: projects that you select the format for—anything goes!

How Can I Be Successful in Video Editing? Good Attendance is Imperative! Arrive on Time to Class & Pay Attention—I will teach you what you need to know & we will work through it together! Ask Questions--others probably have the same question Complete Assigned Projects on Time—don’t procrastinate--meet your milestones so you get your projects done! Have Confidence—don’t get intimidated because this course involves creativity; you can do it!
