3 Why Do I Create and Use Videos? Video lectures allow students to engage in high-level deep learning. Videos allow students to guide their own way through difficult concepts. Videos are easy to create. Videos will replace interaction with faculty members.

4 Why Do I Create and Use Videos? Free up face-to-face time. Provide facts, ideas, and information. Give students choice. Allow students to choose their own pace. Create a personal connection. Appeals to the learning style and lifestyle of 18- 30 year olds.

5 Tips for Video Content 1.Focus on the take-away. 2.Keep videos short. 3.Use pictures/images to gain attention. 4.Have a “theme” for your videos. 5.Use different styles for different purposes. 6.Plan for reusability. March 8, 2016

6 Tips for Video Content 7.Make it easy for students to access. 8.Make it clear when they should watch. 9.Get to know a video editing software package. 10.Publish to multiple/generic formats. 11. Become a consumer of podcasts and vlogs. 12. Have Fun! March 8, 2016
