 I chose this painting because it is a mural of New York City. Also it shows many aspects of the city. It shows the upper class skyscrapers, and the labor that got them through a difficult economic time. It also intrigues me because I went to New York and liked the city.

 Title: St. Francis receiving the stigmata  Artist: Giotto  Date of Composition: 1295-3000  Artistic Era: Renaissance

 I chose this painting because of its many good qualities. I like it because I am a Christian and St. Francis is a famous and important person in my reliegion. In addition, I like that God is appearing to him in the sky and the painting presents God in a glorious way.

 Title: Christ crucified with Toledo in the background  Artist: El Greco, Domenikos Theotokopoulos  Date of Composition: 1604-1614  Artistic Era: Renaissance

 I chose this painting because it depicts the most important day in my religions history. This painting shows Jesus dying to save all of us. This is when Jesus died, but then rose again. This painting has a realistic feel because there is grey in the back, which is associated with the sadness of this day. This painting makes me feel sad that Jesus had to suffer, but it makes me glad when I know he saved all of us.
