3. PERSONAL INFORMATION My name is Felicia Megan Serrano. Felicia means happiness. I have two brothers and two sisters. Only two are a part of my life, an older sister and a younger brother. I am Puerto Rican but I was born and raised in Chicago, Hermosa area. I do not live with either of my parents.(:

4. BACKGROUND INFORMATION I graduated from North Grand High School in June of 2010. I work with children up to the age of 12 at an arts and crafts studio in Roscoe Village called Wishcraft and have been there since the summer of 2009. (: I’ve interned at Sacred Heart School in Chicago with Children of the Heart. I applied for the Elizabeth Harrison Fellowship my senior year of high school because of its program in Elementary Education which was my desired major.

5. SIGNIFICANT EVENT Why did I join this fellowship? There were many reasons why I entered this program some being: (: The El. Ed program The scholarship money The opportunity to reach out to my community.

6. FUTURE PLANS My ultimate plan is to positively impact and properly educate young children in public schools. I would love to own my own facility whose mission is to care for and prepare infants and toddlers for success in pre-school and kindergarten. I feel that educating these children should begin the day they are born. I would prefer to stay in the lower elementary grades k- 3rd but am more than willing to teach the upper grades. I will be specialized in mathematics. (:
