LIMBO

What is limbo?? Plain of existence beyond life for non-Christians and disbelievers An empty, silent and blank realm Prominent in Abrahamic faiths (Judaism, Christianity & Islam) The poem discusses the child’s soul wondering in limbo, beyond even Christ’s help (“Even Christ’s palms, unhealed, Smart and cannot fish there”)

Ballyshannon??...uh ye what?? A TOWN PEOPLE!! That’s what it is! Lies in County Donegal, in the Republic of Ireland, right next to British-controlled Northern Ireland Name means "The Mouth of Seannachs ford“ Location is significant as it gives us the idea of a war torn location At the time Northern Ireland (under English rule) was mostly Protestant and Southern Ireland or just Ireland was mostly Catholic There was, however an Irish catholic resistance movement against England in the North, despite the Protestant majority
