What Trees in rainforest are being cut down The forest in the 1990's was losing around 1000 sq mils of forest each year Decreased between 2000 to 2010 to 700 sq miles being lost Decrees in loss caused buy changed focus Now refocused on oil/mining The biggest drivers for deforestation in the Congo have been - small scale subsistence agriculture, clearing for charcoal and fuelwood, urban expansion, and mining

When Deforestation has been happening in the Congo rainforest for up to 20 years In the 1990's they were losing a lot of land, they were loosing around 1,000 sq ft per year In the 2000's to 2010 they started to lose less land than they were in the 1990's This is a good thing because they have more natural habitats for animals
