Raising a smile… Remember that it doesn’t always take a big thing to make us smile, sometimes a little help makes a lot of difference The same is true when we fundraise for BBC Children in Need. Even the smallest donation could make a big difference to a child just like you How much would we raise if everyone in our class/year/school gave 1 each?
5
Help me smile Thinking back to the children we discussed last lesson, that’s probably enough for Joe’s laptop but not enough to pay for a new wheelchair for Shay, or a youth-club for Summer and her friends Every penny counts...we need to be fundraising Heroes for BBC Children in Need, so that they can help children like William, Shay, Todd and Summer from all over the UK So, let’s be Champions and get fundraising, so that we have something to celebrate in the... Celebration of Champions
6
But how exactly should our class raise money to help BBC Children in Need? Can you remember the role of the… Group Facilitator, Group Reporter and Group Recorder?
7
Today you will each have a group role, but these are all jumbled up! Reporter Your job is to lead the discussion. You are not in charge, but you do decide whose turn it is to speak. You must make sure that everyone has their chance to share their ideas. Recorder Task Master Facilitator Questioner Timekeeper You are responsible for writing down anything important that the group needs to remember. You can write in note form, as long as you can read your own notes! You will be responsible for sharing the group’s ideas with the rest of the class. Make sure you keep to the point and only include the important information. You are in charge of looking for any possible problems with the ideas that the group discuss. You should always be thinking about what could go wrong with any idea. Your job is to make sure that the group is sticking to the task, and that they have done everything that was asked of them. Can you match the names to the descriptions? Your job is to make sure that that the group sticks to the time limits set for each task. Make sure they don’t talk for too long about one idea, or get side tracked onto another topic! Group Name: Date:
