Context & Background. Irish Research Council for the Humanities & Social Sciences (IRCHSS). New Ideas Scheme (November 2011) – Award granted in December 2011. Built upon existing “Knowledge Exchange Programme” funded by the IRCHSS (Coughlan et al., 2010).

Key Principles. Collaboration & Partnership. All working towards a common purpose: Community Integration/Deinstitutionalisation. Inclusion. Improving QoL & outcomes for persons with intellectual disability. Importance of an “integrated approach” to this work.
