2 Wales Co-operative Centre Established in 1982, offices across Wales including in Carmarthen Our mission: To develop sustainable social businesses and strong, inclusive communities by working co-operatively We will support Wales’ economic growth by providing a comprehensive range of services to co- operatives, mutuals, social enterprises and employee owned businesses.

3 Deliver sustainable economic growth while fostering positive social change and innovation Investment in social enterprise stays in the community and is recycled for wider economic and social benefits Often operate in hard to reach, economically challenged communities but employ more people relative to turnover than other businesses Benefits of social enterprise approach

4 Our support to Third Sector organisations Helped to diversify income streams Help organisations to trade as the primary purpose Set up of trading arms Help third sector organisations to merge or work together in consortia

5 Every Link Counts A charity that provides social, leisure and life skill opportunities for young people with learning difficulties. Developed trading arms Link up Care provides personal assistants to young people with disabilities. We provided HR support. First Link Trading includes Digilink and Singleton’s Rosettes

6 Swansea Care and Repair Services Trading arm of Swansea Care and Repair since 2011 Provides a handyperson services All surpluses go back to Swansea Care and Repair Our support included: Advice on legal structures Financial planning Branding and marketing training Training for Board members and senior staff

7 Draig Tex Collaboration between three north Wales social enterprises, Crest Co-operative, Antur Waunfawr and Seren Ffestiniog Cyf Launched a textile recycling facility in Colwyn Bay Working together means they can service a wider geographical area and handle different materials
