1 Bellwork: "The Role of the Character"  Consider the following quotation: "There is nothing new, from Greek mythology to Shakespeare to every romcom [romantic comedy] ever made, we're just reimagining the same 12 story plots over and over again. So what makes people keep watching and listening? It's all about the character." -Jeremy Renner  What is your opinion of this quotation? Do you agree with the author? What is the significance of this quotation?  Time: 5 minutes.

8 Sample Trojan Women VIPs  The Trojan Women mourn the destruction of the city of Troy and the injustice of the gods.  The Trojan Women contemplate their situation and what will happen to them.  Talthybius announces that the women will be allocated to different Greek men.  Polyxena will be sacrificed at Achilles tomb, Cassandra will marry Agamemnon, and Hecuba will go to Odysseus.  Cassandra celebrates her fate because she predicts the death of Agamemnon.

(Per 1 only)  Write 5 VIPs for the story of Little Red Riding Hood.  Summary of the story: Little Red Riding Hood’s mother tells her to take some food to her Granny who is sick. Little Red Riding Hood meets the wolf and she tells him where she is going. The wolf goes ahead of her and eats her Granny and then waits for Little Red Riding Hood to come. Granny’s features are rather big and Little Red Riding Hood asks her why when suddenly the wolf pounces on her. She screams and runs away. A woodcutter kills the wolf and rescues poor Granny.
