4. #SPICECORPS Until July 29, 2016, Microsoft will offer free upgrades of the OS for users of Windows 7 and Windows 8.x … BUT the free offer does not apply to all OS editions. It's only available to users of non-enterprise versions of those OSes. If you have an older OS like Windows Vista or XP, there's no direct upgrade path. You'll have to do a clean install and pay for the OS

Upgrade version is free until July 2016 for non-Enterprise editions After that, $199 for Pro, $119 for Home (if you purchase the full OS at retail) If you buy a new PC with Windows 10, you'll probably get a better deal Enterprise users with Software Assurance can upgrade at no additional cost
