13. S TEP 3: D EVELOP POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS Brainstorm possible solutions

14. S TEP 4: S ELECT THE BEST POSSIBLE SOLUTION Determine which solutions best meets requirements

15. S TEP 5: C ONSTRUCT A PROTOTYPE Model the solution Drawing it out Building the part Follow the plan Create it

16. S TEP 6: T EST AND EVALUATE THE SOLUTION Is it working? Does it meet requirements?

17. S TEP 7: C OMMUNICATE THE SOLUTION Share with peers why this solution works and best fit the problem. Present finding and final results.

18. S TEP 8: R EDESIGN Make improvements If solution did not solve problem or have created new problem, repeat step 2-8 as necessary.

20. A SSIGNMENT : W HAT IS E NGINEERING ? Decide on what field of Engineering you are interested in learning more about. Base on field of study, you will be put into groups. Each group will research the field of study and answer the following questions (refer to handouts) Each group will be given a problem. Use the Engineering Design Process to come up with a solution. Fill out worksheet.

21. A SSIGNMENT : W HAT IS E NGINEERING ? CONTINUES After researching the field, each group will organize the data collected and create a presentation using Prezi or PowerPoint. Everyone will be graded as a group as well as an individual. Everyone must complete and submit a group evaluation.
