TalkAbout Radio Interface Our group has been unsuccessful in obtaining these specifications from Motorola. Our group has been unsuccessful in obtaining these specifications from Motorola. As a result, we have changed the focus of our hardware design to utilize the accessory port available on each TalkAbout radio. Additional Considerations As time permits, the following issues will be added or improved: Maximization of data rates Maximization of data rates Security of information transfer Security of information transfer Cost of hardware production Cost of hardware production
13
Assumptions Motorola will provide the following Motorola will provide the following –3 TalkAbout radios –Metrowerks CodeWarrior software –Fabrication of custom hardware All other major project expenses will be paid for by ECpE All other major project expenses will be paid for by ECpE Specifications for the PDA’s serial connector and the TalkAbout’s interface will be obtainable Specifications for the PDA’s serial connector and the TalkAbout’s interface will be obtainable
14
Assumptions (cont.) Only two TalkAbout radios will be involved in a communication session at any given time Only two TalkAbout radios will be involved in a communication session at any given time The maximum cable length between each PDA/TalkAbout setup will not be an issue The maximum cable length between each PDA/TalkAbout setup will not be an issue
