What Is Marijuana ? Cannabis is the most widely used drug in Britain, made from parts of the cannabis plant and it is a naturally occurring drug. It often causes a chilled out and relaxed vibe and the most active compound in cannabis is THC which is tetrahydrocannabinol.

What are effects of cannabis? Some people may feel chilled out, relaxed and happy, while others try it and feel sick. Others get giggly and become talkative. Hunger pangs are common and are known as 'getting the munchies '.

What are the long term effects of cannabis? Even hardcore smokers can become anxious, suspicious or paranoid. Cannabis also effects your coordination, which is one of the reason’s why drug driving is as bad as drink driving. Some people think that cannabis is harmless just because it’s a plant, cannabis is like tobacco has lots of chemicals,which can cause lung disease and possibly cancer with long-term or heavy use, especially as it is often mixed with tobacco and smoked without a filter. Cannabis itself can affect many different systems in the body, including the heart: It increases the heart rate and can affect blood pressure. If you use cannabis and have a family background of mental illness, such as schizophrenia, you may be at increased risk of developing a psychotic illness.

The law on cannabis Cannabis is a class B drug – illegal to have, give away or sell. Possession can get you up to five years in prison. Supplying someone else, including your friends can get you up to fourteen years in prison and a unlimited fine. Possession: If you are in possession of cannabis if you are younger then 18 you will be arrested on the other hand if your 18 and over you can get a street caution and maybe a fine. Supply: Dealing is a serious offence, if you are caught dealing you can get 14 years in prison and a unlimited fine.
