INTRODUCTION Natural Gas Reserves and Resources Regional Activity Gas Producing States Sources Sources examples Forecast Sources

NATURAL GAS The largest increase in production is projected for the Middle East Gas production in the developing world is expected to exceed consumption by 16.3 trillion cubic feet in 2025 Former Soviet Union, production is projected to exceed consumption by 11.7 trillion cubic feet. United States produced more than 40 percent of its total estimated natural gas endowment
5
RESERVES AND RESOURCES Qatar: Gas reserves grew from 508 trillion cubic feet for 2003 to 910 trillion cubic feet in 2005 Iran: Gas reserves 128 trillion cubic feet Nigeria: Gas reserves 35 trillion cubic feet Middle East and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union with Russia, Iran, and Qatar: Gas reserves three-quarters of the world’s natural gas.
6
REGIONAL ACTIVITY U.S.A –Consumed more than any other country in 2001 Canada –Expected to continue producing more natural gas than it consumes Mexico –Natural gas consumption is expected to far outstrip production over the forecast period

FORECAST SOURCES Our greatest resource to obtain the historical data necessary to evaluate the historical variable mentioned above is the World Wide Web. This tool opens the door to numerous articles, books, and the web sites containing the historical statistics we seek.
11
HISTORICAL DATA Professional forecasters rely so heavily on past data and trends because these are the only concrete denominators available for a point of reference. Financial/investment forecasters use data from the past and historical trends to simulate comparable circumstances in an attempt to measure future outcomes. These movements and reactions are a history lesson and the individual that can identify the correlations has the best chance at forecasting what is to come.
