C ONGRATULATIONS ! Y OU ’ VE WON A HOLIDAY TO SOMEWHERE IN S OUTH E AST A SIA ! You will be working with two classmates to complete this project. You will all need to work as a team to help each other, but each team member will be working on a different project. There are five projects to choose from. The projects range from very easy, easy, achievable, difficult and very challenging. Your team must choose and agree on three of these projects. I NQUIRY L EARNING P ROJECTS You will have to choose three out of five digital projects to present what you have learnt about the country you are visiting. 1. A digital postcard using Microsoft Paint. 2. A brochure using Microsoft Publisher. 3. A radio interview using Audacity. 4. A video diary using Extranormal. 5. D IGITAL POSTCARD You are writing a postcard to a friend. You will need to design the picture side of your postcard to match the country you are visiting. You will need to write a draft in your writing book, edit and then publish on your postcard. Include information like: 1. Places you have visited. 2. An special event you might have participated in. 3. What the weather is like. 4. A special dish you might have eaten. 5. What the people are like. D IGITAL POSTAGE STAMP As an extension task, you could design a stamp to go with your postcard. Don’t forget to include: 1. The name of the country. 2. The cost of the stamp. 3. DIGITAL BROCHURE You are creating a brochure about the place you are visiting. You will need to research information using books, travel guides and the internet. You will need to create a draft of both the information and brochure layout. Remember to include: 1. The name of the country. 2. Information about the country such as it’s main attractions, the people and their culture. 3. Photos you have sourced from the internet. R ADIO INTERVIEW You will be interviewing a couple of travellers (your two partners). You will need to first research the places your travellers will be visiting (and they will too). – places, events, weather, people, food, etc. You will need to draft interview questions. Using the information you have found, you will need to draft a script for your radio interview. You will record your radio interview and then use Audacity to publish your interview. V IDEO DIARY You will need to research the country you are visiting to find out about it’s attractions and culture. You will need to access Google Maps to map out an itinery. You will then need to create a script or story map for your traveller’s diary. Using Extranormal, you will create a video diary of your trip. DIGITAL PROJECT PAGE You will be creating a project page on Superclubs Plus about the country you are visiting. You must be a yellow star holder to do this task. You will need to research and draft information about the country – population, geography, culture, cuisine, etc. You will need to sort this information under nine sub-titles of your choosing. Your work must be edited and then checked by a teacher before publishing. Your work is to be published on Superclubs Plus. ASSESSMENT RUBRIC Each project has an assessment rubric attached to it. Project English: reading / researching information. Humanities: knowledge of South East Asian country and culture. Personal Learning: ability to stay on task/monitor own learning. English: writing drafts / scripts /publishing Interpersonal Learning: team work ICT: computer skills and application.
