Shays’ Rebellion -Western Mass. -Poor back country farmers -Revolutionary War vets -Losing their farms to foreclosure and tax delinquencies -Massachusetts quickly formed a militia thanks to the financial backing of rich people -This made propertied class fear the poor, created “mobocracy” -Too much freedom? -Must draft new constitution!
