Prop Scale Model Worksheet Instructions
2
What to turn in by next Wednesday: This completed worksheet with the prop attached. Frequently asked questions: Q: “What if I threw away my prop / I didn’t make a prop?” A: Make a new one. The requirement that every person would turn in a prop and worksheet was stated many times. Q: “What if I didn’t measure the prop before making it?” A: Fill in the scale model measurements first and then calculate what the real-life size of the object would be for your chosen scale factor. Q: “What if I lost the worksheet?” A: It’s posted online. Print it out or write it down. Q: “Is this a summative grade?” A: Yes.

How to fill out the worksheet if you didn’t measure the prop in order to make it the correct size like you were supposed to: Step 1) Measure your prop’s length and width with a ruler and enter it in the right column of the table. Step 2) Look up your group’s scale factor (Google form link still on my webpage) or just pick one Step 3) Calculate what the real-life measurements of the prop would be using the scale factor.

Example: I measure my prop and get length = 5 in height = 2 in I pick the scale ratio 1 in : 100 feet I calculate the real-life size: length: 5 x 100 = 500 feet height: 2 x 100 = 200 feet 5 in 2 in
