4 Post-Secondary Options What will you do after you graduate?  Military (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Navy, Marines, National Guard)  Trade Schools/Vocational Schools  Apprenticeships  Work Force  Community Colleges  Four Year Colleges/Universities

5 ASVAB  The ASVAB is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military.  Required for those interested in the military  See your recruiter  Take it at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS)

7 Compass Testing Required for community college admission, if not taking the ACT Walk-in testing; no appointment needed(allocate 2 hours and bring photo ID) Times: Mondays 8:00 am-4:00 pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 8:00 am-7:00 pm Fridays 8:00 am-4:00 pm Location: DMACC Ankeny campus Building 6, Room 23

8 ACT Testing  Measures English, Math, Reading Comp, Science Reasoning, (Optional Written Essay)  Tests offered in Sept, Oct, Dec, Feb, April & June  Most popular college entrance exam  Register @ www.actstudent.org www.actstudent.org  Stop in Guidance for a practice test booklet and/or other test prep materials SAT is an option too! Check with admissions reps to see if SAT is required or recommended.

9 College Representatives/Military Recruiters and Visits College Representatives  Meet in Guidance Career Room Military Recruiters  Outside Cafeteria during lunchtime Check announcements and guidance website for dates and times. College Visits  Contact school you are interested in through their admissions office or website to schedule a visit  Bring a note to attendance office prior to the visit
