Future Strategies Increasing productivity through technological interventions. Emphasis on irrigation through Shallow Tube Wells will continue to bring more areas under assured irrigation. Additional 22,000 hectares will be brought under Hybrid Rice cultivation during 2011-12. Emphasis on mechanization to assure farm power availability of 0.80 HP per hectare at the end of 11 th Plan Period. Extension through training & demonstration will be strengthened further. Bankers will be persuaded to extend credit to farmers in bigger way. Increasing productivity through technological interventions.
