2 Is it time to start thinking about Higher Education?  When should I start thinking about higher education?  What will higher education do for me and my future?  What has higher education done for other people?  What are my higher education options?  Is higher education right for me?

Is College Worth It? According to a recent US Census survey, people who held Bachelor’s degrees earned approximately 50% more than high school graduates. They were also almost two times less likely to be unemployed.

5 Steve, a Salt Lake Community College graduate, believes higher education is the key to making more money, having a better/more enjoyable career, and making a difference in today’s society. Steve chose SLCC for the comfort of small class sizes and personal attention from professors to really broaden his education. One thing Steve really enjoyed was the convenient locations and the variety of classes SLCC offers for almost any major or degree. After graduating from SLCC, Steve went on and excelled at the University of Utah. He said having the experience at SLCC prepared him to go on and complete his Master’s degree in Accounting. Salt Lake Community College was the key to gaining his higher education for the future. Why I chose Higher Education

6 Types of Higher Education  Career Studies Certificate (C.S.C)-enhance job or life skills  Certificate-1 year program, leads to entry level employment  Applied Associate Degree (A.A.S.)- 2 year program solid prep for employment, career advancement  Transfer Associate Degree (A.A./A.S)- provide foundation for transfer to a four year Bachelor's Degree  Bachelor's Degree-specialized knowledge in a major field of study  Master or Professional Degree-offered at postgraduate level  Doctorate-further training in more specialized area

7  Higher education offers graduates more jobs to choose from.  Higher education improves an individual's quality of life.  Greater economic stability and security.  More prestigious employment and greater job satisfaction.
