What is an Angle? An angle is formed by two rays (parts of a line) that share the same end point. Ray = Fancy word for “arm” Vertex = Point where both “arms” meet

Three Types of Angles Acute Angle: “Skinny” Angle, Measures between 0 and 90 degrees. Right Angle: Measures 90 degrees Obtuse Angle: “Fat” Angle, Measures between 90 degrees and 180 degrees

Important Parts of a Circle A circle is a closed plane figure made up of all the points the SAME DISTANCE from the center point. You name a circle by its CENTER POINT. This is “Circle A”.

Radius The radius is any line segment that connects the CENTER to ONE POINT on the circle.

Diameter The diameter is any line segment through the CENTER that connects TWO POINTS on the circle.
